Advent is the time that we prepare in waiting for the birth of Christ Jesus. It’s a time to reflect on the birth of Jesus, anticipate his return, and prepare for the celebration of Christmas.
Isaiah 1: 2 & 3. “Here O heavens! Listen, O earth! For the Lord has spoken. I reread children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows his master, the donkey his owner’s manger, but Isrrael does not know my people do not understand.”
A lot of people do not understand who God is and Christmas Eve service is about God showing who he is so people will understand. In a world filled with doubt, cynicism, and uncertainty God shows his love for you by coming in the form of a baby. Who does not welcome and smile at a baby? The beauty and mystery of Christmas is that God comes in the form of a baby showing his eternal love. It is a gift freely given to all, but you have to receive and open the gift. Amen. Christ be with you!
Celebrate the birth of Jesus together with us on Dec 24th at 6pm for our traditional candlelight service.
